Doerr Park Projects
Ongoing Projects at Doerr Park
Ongoing: Water trees and flower bed
Each week neighbor volunteers water the 15 trees and the flower bed that we planted at Doerr Park.
Ongoing: Trash pick-up
We have volunteers who regularly pick up trash at Doerr Park to keep it looking great.
Ongoing: Dog Poop Bags
Using our BeautifySJ grant funds, we are able to maintain and refill the six dog poop bag dispensers in the park.
Completed Doerr Park Projects
Since Fall 2020, in conjunction with the City of San Jose Adopt-A-Park team and PRNS (the Parks department), the Doerr Neighborhood Association has completed the following projects at Doerr Park:
Planted and ongoing watering and maintenance of 15 trees
Installed and planted a flower garden in front of Doerr Park sign
Prepped and painted the benches in the kiddie playground area
Prepped and painted the exterior of the restroom building
Cleaned play structures
Picked up trash
Pulled weeds
Removed graffiti
Provide bags, maintain, and fill dog bag dispensers
We have also been influential in getting two new benches installed by basketball court, damaged picnic tables, BBQ pits, and the drinking fountain replaced by PRNS, and have increased communication with PRNS staff regarding maintenance concerns.
