Volunteers watered the 15 trees and the flower bed that we planted at Doerr Park.
Volunteers picked up trash at Doerr Park to keep it looking great.
Using our BeautifySJ grant funds, we maintained and refilled the six dog poop bag dispensers in the park.
Since Fall 2020, in conjunction with the City of San Jose Adopt-A-Park team and PRNS (the Parks department), the Doerr Neighborhood Association has completed the following projects at Doerr Park:
Planted and ongoing watering and maintenance of 15 trees
Installed and planted a flower garden in front of Doerr Park sign
Purchased and installed an announcement board for Doerr Park
Prepped and painted the benches in the kiddie playground area
Prepped and painted the exterior of the restroom building
Cleaned play structures
Picked up trash
Pulled weeds
Removed graffiti
Provided a new dispenser; maintained dispensers; purchased bags to fill dog bag dispensers
We have also been influential in advocating for:
Two new benches installed by basketball court
The damaged picnic tables replaced
BBQ pits repaired and/or replaced
Bollards installed to prevent cars from entering the park
The drinking fountain replaced
Repairs made to padding to big kid playground
Repairs to the restroom when vandalized
Repairs to basketball court surface
Repairs to park irrigation
Tree trimming within the park
Red curb painting near corner of the park and across from park
